'the ground' was all recorded using the mobile recorder called 'Roland R-9', which was just released at the time. 60 hours of recordings were edited down to 32 minutes, using studio and field recordings as the source material. This work was released in 2007. And now（2020）, with the digitally remastered sound, this album is uploaded to the world on bandcamp, which didn't exist at the time.
　　
In June 2006, RABIRABI performed abroad for the first time. We toured Chicago, USA, and Montreal and Ottawa, Canada. The road trip of over 4,000km（2,500miles） has changed our mindset about our music career. Back in Japan, RABIRABI decided.
　
◉The band performs, improvising only on percussion and voice.
（The composition of the band just happened to be two percussionists and a vocalist.）
◉100 gigs in one year.
◉Tour all over Japan（and sometimes the world）.
　
In 2007, the decision was 100% carried out. In a year's journey, we think we had already discovered most of the things RABIRABI would later encounter. It's like a dream we had at the dawn time that is coming true one by one. 'the ground' became the ground where it began of RABIRABI. For the next 13 years, our musical journey is still going strong.
　
We still remember it. While listening to 'the ground', which had just finished mixing down, we couldn't stop being excited at the prospect of beginning of the 'new normal'. In June 2020, on the Earth that has been covered by Covid-19 and is #BLACKOUT to reboot, we are feeling strong again the prospect of beginning of the #NewNomal #NewHumanLife.

'the ground'のすべての音は、当時発売されたばかりのモバイルレコーダー「Roland R-9」を用いて録音しました。スタジオ演奏やフィールドレコーディングを素材にして、60時間におよぶ録音を32分に編集した2007年の作品です。当時は存在しなかったbandcampに、デジタルリマスタリングした音で全世界へUPLOADします。
　
2006年６月、ラビラビは初めて海外でライブをしました。アメリカシカゴ、カナダモントリオール,オタワを巡った4,000km（2,500mile）を超えるロードトリップは、私たちの音楽活動に対するマインドセットを一変させました。日本に戻り、ラビラビは決心します。

（メンバー構成がたまたま２人のパーカッションとヴォーカリストだった）
◉１年で100本ライブをする。
◉日本中を（時には世界を）回る。
　
2007年、決心は100％実行されました。１年の旅の中で、後にラビラビが遭遇するだいたいの事を、すでに発見できていたと思います。まるで夜明けに見た夢が、ひとつひとつ現実になっていくように。この年にリリースされた'the ground'は、まさにラビラビの「始まりの地」になりました。そこから13年、音楽の旅はなおも続いています。
　
今でも憶えています。ミックスダウンを終えたばかりの'the ground'を聞きながら、「新しい日常」が始まる予感にワクワクが止まらなかったことを。2020年６月。コロナウイルス感染症に覆われ、再起動するために#BLACKOUTしている地球で、ラビラビはまた感じています。
