Birds eat the consciousness of dead people. I have heard that. Ever since then, when I see them circling without a single flap of their wings, I feel as if they are looking into my consciousness and organizing it with their beaks so that they can easily eat it when it comes. It feels good to have my brain quieted down. The servers of the consciousness are riding the wind above our head.
　
This song is based on an oral tradition song (Upopo) about birds of the Ainu, who are indigenous people of the Japanese archipelago. When I first heard this song, I felt the dim haze deep of my eyelids begin to sway slightly. It was cool!
　
As soon as RABIRABI started touring with impromptu performance, I started singing it. The haze swayed by my longing reached the Ainu, in our tours. And an exchange was born. The Ainu words, sounds, and dances they taught me have been secretly passed on to the islands shaped like bows. I am sure that the birds of the archipelago are saving them for us.
　
We've covered this song thousands of times, and now we're uploading the most recent version to bandcamp. 'Naked Dub Mix' by Japan's proud dub master Naoyuki Uchida. Bonus track on 'Luminous Flow' 12inch vinyl, released on September 9, 2020. No included in the CD.

鳥は、死んだ人の意識を食べると聞いたことがある。以来、一折の羽ばたきもせず旋回する姿を見ると、私の意識を覗いて、来たるべき時に食べやすいよう、嘴で整えているような感覚がする。脳が静かになって氣持ちいい。意識のサーバーは頭上で風に乗っている。
　
この曲は、日本列島に先住しているアイヌ民族の、古くから伝わる鳥の唄（ウポポ）が元になっています。その唄を初めて聴いた時、まぶたの奥に見える薄暗い靄が、わずかに揺れ始めるのを感じました。カッコイイ。
　
ラビラビが即興演奏でツアーに出るようになってすぐ、私はこれを歌い始めました。憧れが揺らした靄は旅の中でアイヌに届き、交流が生まれました。彼らから教わったアイヌの言葉や音や舞踊は、弓の形をした島々に秘めやかに伝わっています。きっと列島の鳥たちがセーヴしてくれているのでしょう。
　
何千回もカヴァーしたこの曲を、もっとも新しいバージョンでbandcampにupします。日本が誇るダブマスター内田直之による'Naked Dub Mix'。2020年９月９日リリース'Luminous Flow' 12inch ヴァイナルのボーナストラック。CD未収録。
